Caribbean Cuisine, a locally owned and operated restaurant,has been serving amazing Caribbean food to the people of Houston, Texas since 1984. In 2013, the restaurant was taken over by Milton Jones and Sharon, a beautiful couple who share their immense love for food in common. 

Caribbean food is a fusion of African, Amerindian, European, East Indian, Arab and Chinese cuisines. This style of cuisine is unique to the region and was brought in by the native island settlers. A signature trait of this island food is the depth of flavors gained from the use of a variety of authentic seasoning and spices such as fresh garlic, onions, celery, green onions, thyme, bell peppers, pimento, rosemary and bay leaves.

At Caribbean Cuisine restaurant, the meals are prepared with fresh and locally reared ingredients, standing true to the value of "eat what you grow." So come over, eat the fish that has landed directly from the fisherman’s net onto our stove top. Devour the side dishes made from the freshest raw, steamed or sautéed garden vegetables. Enjoy rice, yams, Tania (yucca), dasheen, boiled green bananas, curry, jerk or brown gravy stews.

Milton Jones, Owner

Milton Jones is a native of Portland, Jamaica. After graduating high school, Milton served in the US Army for 22 years, with his last deployment in the Iraq War. Milton's culinary passion was ignited by his father, who rose from selling food from a push cart to owning a plaza complex in his native land of Jamaica. Milton's desire to pursue this passion was reignited after he retired from the military and found the time needed to dedicate to it.

Although he was a good cook of the traditional Jamaican cuisine, he decided to attend a culinary school - the Art Institute of Houston to get his associate of arts degree to sharpen his proficiency. Prior to culinary school, he devoted his time to his family catering business before going ahead and purchasing his own restaurant. Milton now holds an MSc in logistics management from the Touro University and a BSc in management from the Park University.

Sharon, Owner

Sharon is the wife of owner Milton Jones and is a native of Belize City, Belize. They own and run the Caribbean Cuisine restaurant, bakery and catering business together. The couple migrated to Chicago in 1978, subsequently exchanged vows in the year 1983 are now proud parents of three. Sharon graduated from Fayetteville State University as a registered nurse and later attained her MBA from the Touro University.
